Artist Statement
My passion and experience intersect at the meetings of theatre, community, ritual, sexuality, gender, mental health, and trauma-sensitivity.
I believe that in art, in theatre, we can use both the process and the product to create new paradigms through which both artists and audience can find belonging and be activated for change.
I center my work around creating & holding brave spaces for artists & students to engage with charged material, building in support through creative structure, trauma-sensitive practices and intentional community.
With over a decade of experience, I’ve seen how mindfully curated spaces give folks the agency to step outside their comfort zones and access a deeper level of vulnerability, honest communication, artistic productivity and personal growth.
At its core, I believe that art can allow people to tap into a deeper, more embodied level of empathy than they can access through intellect alone.
